Overview:

Tolead develop and manage the delivery of the European CorporateBanking Strategy being one of the key areas of the EuropeanWholesale Banking business covering existing and newtobank Local /Network Corporate relationships across the banks European footprint

To lead the Banks European Corporate CoverageRelationship Management Team and closely collaborate with WholesaleBanking Europe FI&NBFI Coverage and Product Sales businessteams under the guidance of the European Head of Wholesale Banking(HWBE) the jobholder will have the vision leadership qualities andtechnical skills combined with high energy drive and determinationto make a significant contribution to the Banks change agendagrowth aspirations and overall success of the Wholesale BankingEurope strategic business plan.

The job holderwill have functional matrix reporting to and close collaborationwith the Group Head of Corporates (GHOC) for full alignment ofGroup strategy and cross/upsell potential of European Corporatesacross Bank ABCs global network.

PrincipalAccountabilities

In terms of theresponsibilities required for the successful delivery of thefunction the following apply:

BankABC Europe accountabilities:

• In collaboration with the HWBE andGHOC define and execute the European Corporate Coverage Strategyannual revenue Budget and related KPIs.
• Proactively refine and update the EuropeanCorporate Coverage strategy as necessary to ensure the Bank retainsa competitive proposition and relevance in its European coremarkets and operates a best market practice model to the extentpracticable.
  
• Provide input andguidance to the HWBE GHOC and the Banks Executive Leadership Teamas may be necessary in respect of the performance and developmentof the European Corporate Banking franchise including keychallenges and opportunities geographic and product expansionstrategic planning and soforth.
  
• Drive NewtoBank Clientorigination in line with the Banks strategy risk acceptancecriteria and return thresholds.
  
• Drivegrowth in deepening the Banks share of client wallet across theClients Value Chain through collaboration with the Banks Globalnetwork and product sales staff to maximize cross/ upsellactivities in line with the Banks strategy risk & returnthresholds
  
• Work in close coordinationwith product sales to identify product improvement innovation/newproducts that are in line with customer needs and the Banksstrategy risk & returnthresholds.
  
• As a Senior member of theEuropean Wholesale Banking business Team drive the One Bank OneGroup concept actively facilitating cross border cross client andcross product collaboration to deliver a coordinated and seamlessOneBank experience to the Corporateclient.
• Facilitate and maintain a highperformance continuous learning and client centric culture thatembraces Bank ABCs values and behaviors to unite and motivate theEuropean Corporate RMs to perform at their best and strive todeliver sustainable success for Wholesale Banking Europe and BankABC.
• Set expectations manage monitor coach anddevelop team members providing support and guidance to ensure thatthey maximize their performance meet the required standards andcontinuously develop their capabilities andexperience.
• Provide senior representation tothe external market community (conferences round tables etc.) tocontinuously build Bank ABC Group brandawareness.

Operationalaccountabilities:

• Drive ahighperformance culture and sales effectiveness across theCorporate RM Team developing and implementing business developmentstrategies plans tools and techniques to focus origination andexecution efforts targeting strategic clients and deliversustainable growth and profitability in line with Banks requiredreturns (RAROC) and other performanceobjectives.
• Develop and manage strongrelationships with key internal / external stakeholders includingmarket participants lawyers consultants regulatory bodies and otheragencies to further support Bank ABCs strategicobjectives.

PerformanceManagement

• Drive ahighperformance culture amongst the European Coverage team todeliver sustainable revenue growth whilst effectively managingoperating expenses grow the overall Client base and Client share ofwallet and increase overall portfolio and Client Portfolio RiskAdjusted Return on Capital (RAROC);
• Drive therecruitment of key roles within Corporate Coverage to continuouslybuild breadth and depth of expertise within thebusiness;
• Embrace proactive portfoliomanagement including the model to originate to sell in order tooptimize portfolio performance andreturns.
• Ensure an effective succession plan isin place for key Corporate Coverage roles supported by an adequateprofessional development plan
• Set annualEuropean Corporate Coverage budget and KPIs for the CorporateCoverage team and drive individual performances accordinglyincluding periodic reviews throughout the year and a yearend reviewandrating.

CandidateSpecification:

• Excellent understanding of the Banks Wholesale Banking productsuite offered to Corporate clients including but not limited toTransactional Banking Credit & Lending and StructuredFinance.
• Successfully led a sizeable bankingorganization across various geographies and ideally in a matrixstructure.
• Excellent understanding ofContinental Europe Corporate Banking market combined with a solidunderstanding and knowledge of the MENAmarkets.
• Good track record of excellentcustomer relationship management skills across corporates
• Excellent understanding of risk managementand mitigation techniques
• Excellentunderstanding of the regulatory environment andobligations
• Fluent in English and preferablyone other European language
• Significant postqualification experience in corporate and/or investment banking orrelated areas (at least 10 years)
• Significantexperience in senior management and management jobs in majorbanking institutions (at least 6 years)
• Proventrack record of originating structuring and executing significantcredit and trade transactions
• Experience ofmanaging multiple priorities in a challenging and changingenvironment
• Successful proven trackrecord ofexcellent client relationship management across global corporateorganizations
• Successful proven trackrecord ofdelivering stretching business goals in a challenging and changingenvironment
• Experience of developing andexecuting change
