This role is responsible for leading the Vessel Agent team in providing in-house agency/husbandry service to all group vessels. You and your team will ensure that all activities of the vessel call are fulfilled, the needs of the Master and crew are delivered in a safe and timely manner and abide by all port and other legal requirements.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Liaise with all concerned stakeholders ensuring legal and regulatory compliance is met. This includes UK immigration laws, HMRC requirements for import and export cargo, IMO rules for vessel port stays, local port bylaws. Provide arrival and departure information on crew and passengers to all relevant local authorities. Ensure compliance with UK policy in relations to vessel clearance and onward voyage, booking berths as necessey, report CERS (article 7 of reg /4), verifying information on IMO documents. Request crew change repatriation with UKBA and issuing Letter of Guarantee. Checking and customs clearing cargo with UK Customs to ensure cargo can be loaded or discharged to/from vessel. Allocate berths to group vessels based on technical knowledge of the fleet and berthing situation. Arrange pilot and towage to ensure safe movement of the vessel, liaising with relevant stakeholders as necessary. Arrange provision of stores, fuel, spare partks etc for the vessel prior to arrival and during port stay. Complete “Statement of Fact” and “Port Costs” and approve invoices to DA account.
Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Previous experience in vessel agent/husbandry role Leadership experience Good knowledge of customs clearance and export/import procedures.  Excellent organisation and time management skills Able to work unsocial and flexible hours to meet vessel requirements Ability to work under pressure Full clean driving licence

EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE

Knowledge of local agencies, regulatory authorities Knowledge of UK Immigration rules for seafarers Knowledge of UK HMRC T1 ship spares procedures
