In this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Science lessons to students, using a combination of practical experiments, technology, and traditional teaching methods. You will also be required to create and maintain an inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring that all students have equal access to education and opportunities for success. As a Science teacher, you will have the opportunity to nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, while fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for scientific concepts.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons to students, ensuring alignment with the school curriculum
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching practices and resources
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science Education, or a related field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Proven experience teaching Science at the primary or secondary level
- Excellent knowledge of the Science curriculum and current teaching methodologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and improving teaching practice
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the school's wider curriculum
