Job Purpose

As part of our Apprentice intake for September 2024, we are looking to recruit a Mechanical Apprentice to work within our Wales region. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the engineering industry.

The Role

As an Apprentice, you will be working alongside a team of experienced engineers, assisting in mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance across various client sites. You will receive on-the-job training and support to develop your skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance
  • Learning how to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Following health and safety procedures and wearing personal protective equipment
  • Communicating effectively with team members and clients
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area

Requirements

  • Strong interest in mechanical engineering
  • Enthusiastic and motivated to learn
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • GCSEs in Maths, English and Science
  • Due to the nature of the work we complete, you must be 18+ years old.
  • You will sometimes be required to get to site on your own so a full UK driving license and own vehicle is necessary.

Desirable:

  • Previous work experience or education related to engineering
  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in mechanical work
