General Teaching Assistant – Leyland (Secondary School)

Location: Leyland, Lancashire

Start Date: September 2024

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role: We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a well-regarded secondary school in Leyland. This role involves working closely with teachers to support students’ learning and well-being across various subjects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in the delivery of lessons and classroom management.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
  • Prepare and organise teaching materials and resources.
  • Supervise students during break times and extracurricular activities.
  • Support the school’s policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with secondary school students is desirable.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and approachable manner.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
