Behaviour Mentor Position Available in Levenshulme

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position is set to start ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. The role offers a competitive weekly pay range of £419.25 - £500.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' behavioural and emotional development, helping them to achieve their full potential in a positive and structured learning environment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Student Support: Working one-on-one and in small groups with students to address behavioural issues and promote positive behaviour.
  • Intervention Programs: Developing and implementing behaviour intervention programs tailored to individual student needs.
  • Mentoring and Guidance: Providing mentoring and guidance to students, helping them develop coping strategies and build self-esteem.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and parents to create and maintain a consistent approach to behaviour management.
  • Monitoring Progress: Tracking and reporting on students’ behavioural progress, adjusting support strategies as needed.
  • Conflict Resolution: Assisting in resolving conflicts and issues that arise during the school day, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Supporting and participating in extra-curricular activities that encourage positive student engagement.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintaining accurate records of student behaviour, interventions, and progress.

Requirements:

  • A background in education, psychology, counselling, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people, particularly in a behaviour management capacity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to addressing the needs of students.
  • An empathetic and patient manner.
  • The ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students.
