We welcome applications from newly qualified & experienced Sonographers with multiple skillsets who can scan General, Gynecology & obstetrics ultrasound, all successful candidates will be supported by a preceptorship program.

A preceptorship will be undertaken to complete competencies which will take 1-3 months. During this period the sonographer will work 9am – 5pm. After competencies have been signed off, hours will be transferred to the 7-day working pattern

They will maintain a high professional standard of ultrasound imaging with cross site rotation covering The Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital & Mile End Hospital.

Our Sonographers undertake clinical work within established quality standards of practice, adhering to Ultrasound guidelines such as those published by BMUS, RCOG, RCR and NICE. They will work within departmental protocols as a practitioner in the delivery of all ultrasound imaging, reporting & management of the patient.

They will liaise with key Lead Nurses, Obstetricians & Gynecologist in the Women’s Health Division, as well as the Radiologists in the General Ultrasound Department. In the absence of a Lead Sonographer, the post-holder will oversee the day-to-day workload to ensure staff &resources are allocated to the area and managed effectively.

The post holder will promote patient advocacy & communicate effectively with other health care professionals together with outside agencies.

We support the successful candidates to transition into their new role through preceptorship with an expectation to be signed off to be independent and autonomous within 3 months. The preceptorship is to develop their practice, not to compensate for any shortfall in pre-registration education.
