We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sonographer to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a Sonographer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality ultrasound imaging services to our patients.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including general abdominal, gynecological, small parts, head and neck, musculoskeletal, vascular, neonatal head, and neonatal hip ultrasound examinations. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the appropriate imaging, reporting, and management of patients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform ultrasound examinations to high standards, adhering to relevant guidelines and protocols.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical and professional expertise in ultrasound imaging.
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in continuing professional development to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound.
  • Current and up-to-date state registration through a regulatory body (HCPC, NMC, or GMC) or RCT.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging ultrasound techniques and relevant topics/professional issues.
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to carry out and report on a full range of ultrasound examinations in Gynaecology, General Abdominal, and Small Parts.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
