Job Title: Diagnostic Sonographer

Join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust as a Diagnostic Sonographer, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be a qualified sonographer with a strong background in diagnostic radiography and ultrasound scanning. You will be responsible for carrying out specialized sonographic imaging to a high standard, providing diagnosis as appropriate at the time of examination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out diagnostic ultrasound procedures, maintaining high professional standards of technical competence and ensuring excellent standards of care at all times.
  • Assess and adapt techniques following assessment for each procedure to meet the individual needs of the patient.
  • Interpret complex data in order to ascertain and identify any pathological or incidental findings observable.
  • Communicate the results of normal and abnormal scans to patients and relatives, ensuring that information is clearly understood.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive diagnostic service.
Requirements:
  • DMU/Pg Certificate in clinical ultrasound
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration (or equivalent professional registration)
  • Relevant clinical ultrasound NHS experience
  • Experience of working unsupervised and taking responsibility where necessary
