WHAT TO EXPECT

Come and join JLR as an Instrumentation Test and Development Engineer.

You will work in the Instrumentation Applications team which will be instrumental in supporting the JLR engineering community in providing expert knowledge of data acquisition installations and measurement techniques.

You will be overseeing the installation of data-loggers and measurement sensors to primarily prototype vehicles, to allow the accurate capture of test data, which allows internal engineering customers to validate vehicle, system and component performance.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Configuration of data-logging systems with bias towards vehicle Network Data Logging, this includes CAN bus, FlexRay, XCP, UDS and Ethernet protocols Application of measurement solutions to test properties (vehicles, rigs and components) Applying measurement techniques to record, for example, Temperature, Pressure, Flow, Displacement, Voltage and Current Configuration of measurement systems and signal conditioning with understanding of excitation, filtering and sample rate Organisation and support of the workshop teams to deliver the installations

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Detailed understanding of data logging, sensors and interfaces Knowledge of vehicle architectures and how to interact with them, CAN, CANFD Good interpersonal skills Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred Experience in data acquisition software - Vehicle Spy for Intrepid Control Systems (ICS) data-loggers; Ipemotion for Ipetronik systems and/or INCA
