The Valuations and Remarketing Executive plays a critical role in achieving conversion and margin targets by leading the valuation and remarketing processes. This essential position supports the valuations team and drives the efficient remarketing of M4YM stock through auction sales. Key responsibilities include overseeing purchase pricing, maximising remarketing conversion and margin, and providing strategic input and support for the front-end pricing system that generates crucial business enquiries.

Key Relationships / Stakeholders:
 

  • Regular Updates: Provide regular updates on remarketing activities and market insights.
  • Valuations Team: Support in achieving business performance targets and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Auction Houses: Maintain relationships to optimise auction disposals and processes for the best outcomes.
  • Internal Departments: Collaborate with internal departments to improve overall business performance.
  • Front-End Pricing: Provide input and support for the front-end pricing system that drives enquiries into the business.

Decision Making:
 

  • Team Support: Support the Remarketing Manager and Valuations Executives with valuations, leading by example.
  • Business Performance: Help the team meet volume and margin targets, achieving objectives and monitoring progress.
  • Valuation Accuracy: Ensure valuations are accurate and reflect current market conditions.
  • Auction Strategy: Develop and refine auction strategies to maximise conversion and margins.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and review remarketing activities and address any issues promptly.
  • Resource Management: Manage team resources to ensure efficient operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities follow company policies and industry standards.

Key Accountabilities:
 

  1. Accuracy: Deliver highly accurate valuations that reflect current market conditions.
  2. Volume: Support the achievement of vehicle valuation and auction objectives.
  3. Margin: Help maintain desired margins on vehicle valuations and disposals.
  4. Team: Provide guidance and motivation to the team, encouraging continuous improvement.
  5. Reporting: Produce consistent, relevant, and detailed valuation and remarketing reports.
  6. Market Insight: Stay ahead of market trends and conditions, identifying vehicles that sell well and those that don’t.
  7. Auction Knowledge: Have a strong understanding of auction processes and dynamics.
  8. Communication: Communicate effectively with peers and other departments.
  9. Support Functions: Offer expert knowledge and experience to assist other business areas.

Skills and Experience Required:
 

  • Valuation Knowledge: Good understanding of vehicle valuation and market trends.
  • Auction Knowledge: Understanding of auction processes.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in all tasks.
  • Experience: Car buying or valuations and remarketing.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Time Management: Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient with valuation tools and software.
  • Industry Experience: Experience with the used vehicle market.
  • Management Experience: Previous supervisory role.
  • Strategic Skills: Experience with strategic decision-making.
  • Market Insight: Ability to provide market analysis insights.
  • Relevant Certifications: Advanced training in automotive valuation or a related field.
  • Performance Improvement: Experience with performance improvement.
