Fishing Republic (‘FR’) is among the largest of UK fishing tackle shops. Passionate about angling, we are committed to bringing you the best choice of fishing equipment and value across the whole sport. From coarse and carp fishing gear, to sea, fly, predator and specialist tackle for sale, we stock a huge range of products, including bite alarms and fishing reels from over 100 of your favourite brands.  

We have a huge team of anglers within the company that specialise in every single aspect of fishing from carp, coarse, fly, predator and sea fishing. Several FR’s are housed within GO Outdoors stores across the UK providing future career opportunities in the outdoor activities sector.  

Role Overview:  

Day-to-day you will be dealing with and advising our customers on our extensive range of fishing products. You will be part of a highly motivated and enthusiastic team dedicated to providing excellent customer service and ensuring our customers receive the best possible shopping experience whilst in our store. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the concession and your team.  

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • S upport the Store Management team lead and motivate a high performing, highly engaged team of colleagues.
  • Support a culture of exceptional customer service ensuring our store teams win customers for life by exceeding their expectations.
  • Support colleagues through internal development programme to support future talent and career pathways to help us grow our business.
  • Uphold a store that is safe and compliant operating environment for all colleagues and customers.
  • Deliver our financial results in line with or more than company targets.
  • Duty manage and take responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store or Department Managers.  

Skills/Experience/Knowledge:  

  • Great role model who supports colleagues by mentoring and sharing knowledge to build stronger team.
  • Clear, confident, and motivational communicator with excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills. 
  • At least 1 year supervision experience, preferably in a similar format of retail.
  • Experience of effectively prioritising and delegating workload to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • A passion for customer service and a proven record of delivering excellence in this area.
  • Knowledge of local market trends, competitor activity and the ability to identify local community growth opportunities to their Store Manager.
  • Keen interest in the fishing industry and/or community.
