We are looking for an Assistant to provide administration and practical support to the Director of Development, serving as a valuable conduit between the Director and all RSC stakeholders, supporting relationships at the highest level through exceptional initiative, consideration and attention to detail.

Reporting to the Director of Development, your duties and responsibilities will include (see the job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

  • Being the first point of contact for the Director of Development internally and with supporters and other external stakeholders.
  • Managing the Director of Development's diary and coordinating all administrative arrangements relating to day-to-day activities.
  • Managing correspondence, including managing and filing emails and drafting responses.
  • Organising external meetings, including booking venues, arranging equipment, catering and agendas
  • Managing UK and international travel arrangements, including hotel accommodation, including itinerary and document management.
  • Assisting with the administration for the effective running of the team, arranging team meetings, cross-departmental meetings and team away days.
  • Liaising with the Chair, Board, Executive Director and Co-Artistic Directors offices regarding meetings and correspondence with supporters and stakeholders.
  • Administering the Development Committee, including organising meetings, papers, minutes and follow up.

To be suitable for this role, you must have:

  • Demonstrable administration experience in a busy office environment and the ability to use MS Office packages.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence when communicating with stakeholders, internally and externally, and at all levels of seniority.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritise a varied and deadline driven workload.
  • A solutions-driven mindset and positive approach to work tasks.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to act with patience and observe confidentiality. 

This is a full time, permanent position, which is based in London with travel to and from Stratford-upon-Avon for events and meetings, there is the opportunity to occasionally work remotely. Other travel may be required, including some overseas. The Development department operate between Monday to Friday working within 8am and 6pm, as this role involves supporting events there will be times when you will work outside of normal working hours and on weekends. Time off in lieu will be allocated according to our TOIL policy.
