The role

also involves assessing liability for alleged injuries and consequential conditions which impact permanent impairment and effectively gathering, investigating, and assessing evidence to make soundly based decisions.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Review independent medical assessments and ensure that they are accurate, adhere to relevant legislation and Guidelines, and appropriately address liability issues Ensure injured workers receive fair compensation for permanent impairment and the ensuing threshold-based entitlements Ensure employers interests are protected by appropriate investigation and preparation of evidence regarding liability, permanent impairment, and litigation Adhere to the model litigant policy while achieving quality assessment and remuneration targets. Represent the insurer and/or provide instructions in legal proceedings before the Personal Injury Commission and Courts. Manage litigated claims in accordance with icare and SIRA policies and procedures.

Skills & Experience:

Experience in a technical role within personal injury insurance (Workers Compensation or CTP) e.g., Technical Advisor, Technical Specialist, WPI & Litigation Specialist, IDR Specialist Experience in managing high risk claims areas such as litigation, WPI, Work Injury Damages, Section 39 claims, Internal Dispute Resolutions within the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme or CTP Experience in drafting and peer reviewing dispute notices Demonstrated understanding of current Workers Compensation Legislation Strong ability to interpret and apply legislation and case law.
