Job summary

The Children's Therapies Team is an integrated therapies team providing Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Specialist Nurse Advisors and Care Co-ordinators to children 0 - 19 years within KCHFT.

We have a Band 6 OT post on a full time permanent basis within both our Early Years and School Years teams.

The successful applicant will join our Children's Therapies East Kent Team based in Canterbury and Thanet and will be supported by Band 7 Clinical Leads within the East Kent team but also others in our North and West Kent localities.

We currently offer a hybrid work pattern for staff with face to face sessions offered from clinics, nurseries, schools and also sessions worked remotely from home.

We work closely with colleagues from other health, education and social care teams to provide an integrated team around the child approach.

Main duties of the job

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate a range of OT interventions that support children with a range of needs toparticipate in occupations of childhood.

To develop integrated care plans in partnership with the child, young person and / or family recommending andsupporting interventions that are appropriate at a universal, targeted and specialist level.

To actively work as a member of a multi disciplinary and multi-agency teams to provide high quality care to children and young people in line with our care pathways.

To manage a caseload of children on a daily basis that includes children and young people with complex needs.

To participate in clinical supervision and to work as part of an integrated team with Therapy Assistants, OTs, PTs, SLTs, Care Co-ordinators and Specialist Nurse Advisors offering support to colleagues as appropriate to knowledge and skills

To support and make recommendations to senior managers in order to prioritise and focus efforts to drive forward and achieve business objectives, service improvement strategies and statutory requirements.
