CHANEL

At Chanel, our values are grounded in creating the conditions for people to perform at their best and feel fulfilled and confident in their work.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Open Innovation team is a future-forward innovation ecosystem for CHANEL. Operating at the intersection of the organization and the wider world, we envision the road ahead for luxury and for CHANEL, fast-tracking potential responses through our network of investments and partnerships. We pressure-test these ideas both inside and outside CHANEL, enabling the House to create positive impact from leading-edge learnings and capabilities and to prepare its businesses for the future.

The Digital & Startup Programs team manages our start-up programs and innovation communities, building upon our external partnerships and connecting them with our other new ventures and across the House, with a focus on digital and emerging technology topics. They will ignite initiatives with innovation teams across the house and launch new internal programs as well as a future of luxury and technology think tank. The team is looking for an Innovation Programs Lead based in London, reporting into the Head of Open Innovation Community Programs.

IMPACT YOU CAN CREATE AT CHANEL

In this role, you will help manage execution for the implementation and roll out of our intrapreneurship and start-up programs. Your work will touch on the realms of Corporate Innovation, Organizational Culture and Employee Engagement.

Responsibilities include:

Operating and promoting the Intrapreneurship program developed by Global Open Innovation across the House's markets, tailoring new iterations for different business units and capturing the best and brightest talent to enroll in the program. Collaborate with the different local markets to implement the framework, select relevant challenges and scope and create engagement within the house, to allow the intrapreneurship program to thrive. Working with global and local stakeholders to ensure their support at key moments as well as local teams on execution and implementation of program activities and processes. Drive the evolution of the Intrapreneurship program by creating new learnings, methodologies and operational processes that support the scaling of the innovation programs to a global company-wide initiative. Foster an internal innovation community by facilitating dedicated forums and events that enhance engagement and nurture a culture of knowledge sharing and dynamic collaboration across the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING/HAVE

Demonstrated experience in managing innovation projects, leveraging stakeholders to drive innovation in line with vision, strategy, and culture. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, facilitating constructive engagements to gain commitment and buy-in. Experience with helping to run corporate entrepreneurship programs and internal innovation projects preferred. Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple work streams simultaneously. Test and learn mindset and ability to challenge the usual. Relationship-driven mindset with experience managing communication or development strategies for various audiences. Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable with complexity, ambiguity and shifting priorities. Self-motivated, with strong project management experience and ability to drive them independently. Exceptionally strong influencing and collaborative negotiation skills, internally and externally, across levels and disciplines. Deep understanding of how to navigate relationship-driven, matrixed organizations and understanding of luxury is important. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written; French language skills a plus. Focus on integrating diverse viewpoints and cultures, to better understand the world of today as well as tomorrow, in an inclusive and globally minded way. Prior professional experience in luxury is not essential, but an interest in the intersection of luxury, sustainability and innovation is strongly preferred. 4+ years’ experience in innovation, communications, people development, internal/external marketing or stakeholder engagement is required. Bachelor’s degree required. Position based in London (~60% in office, ~40% remote, flexible). Some travel required, at least every other month.

YOU ARE ENERGISED BY

Helping to contribute to an organizational culture that embraces innovation. Being exposed to new technologies, ways of working, trends and future disruptions in the worlds of luxury, retail, and client experience. An experimental and innovative environment, with a focus on continuous learning and improvement. Managing events and programs from start to finish, working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver inspiring and insightful initiatives, projects and special moments. Developing engagement strategies for internal innovation communities, finding ways to creatively ignite, inspire and connect innovators across our ecosystem to deliver value. Managing budgets and timelines in a nimble way to maximize impact while moving quickly. Working collaboratively across the Open Innovation team and with some of our strategic partners, as well as across Chanel, working within our matrix to help accelerate innovation across the House. Visibility to senior leadership and diverse global groups and teams. Connection to internal and external innovators (e.g., start-ups, VCs, entrepreneurs). Opportunity to work entrepreneurially on innovation and future-forward topics and ignite innovation spirit across the company.

At Chanel, we are focused on creating an inclusive culture that nurtures personal growth, contributing to collective progress. We believe the uniqueness of each individual increases the diversity, complementarity, and effectiveness of our teams. We strongly encourage your application, as we value the perspective, experience, and potential you could bring to CHANEL.
