Job summary
The purpose of this post holder is the delivery of high-quality primary care nursing service to the practice population. You will work with Practice policies, protocols and guidelines whilst using experience and clinical judgement to provide nurse interventions and care. You will work alongside our ANPs and Triage GP in the Urgent Care Team ensuring patients are seen and treated on the same day.
Main duties of the job
You will be working within our Urgent care/ Same day servicethat will be operating out of 1 of our practice locations.
The aim is to see and treat all aspects of minor illnesscare like ear, throat, and chest infections etc. On occasions you maybe askedto see other types of patients in consultation with our duty GP if yourclinical skill set allows you to.
In this role you will be working as part of our Urgent CareTeam and will always have additional clinical help and support if required.

Job responsibilities
Provide urgent on the day appointments for patients presenting with minor illnesses either by telephone or face to face. Provide first point of contact within the Practice for patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems, making the use of skills in history taking, physical examination, problem solving and clinical decision-making, to establish a diagnosis and management plan. Make professionally autonomous decisions. Produce accurate, contemporaneous, and complete records of patient consultation, consistent with legislation, policies, and procedures. Investigate necessary invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests or investigations and interpret findings/reports. The Minor Illness Nurse will need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients accordingly making any necessary referrals for investigations in the appropriate manner. Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence and to acknowledge limitations. Ensure the clinical computer system is kept up to date with accurate details recorded and amended. This list should not be seen as an exhaustive list. Person Specification
