The team of four Junior Deans works with the Senior Dean and Fellow for Welfare, who are Fellows of the College. This is a two-year appointment open to registered graduate students of the University of Oxford. Applicants with at least two years left in their course of study will be preferred.

The primary duty of the Junior Deans is to support the Senior Dean and Fellow for Welfare in relation to student welfare and discipline, working no more than 15 hours per week during term time. The position requires a mature person with good judgement, discretion and an ability to relate to people at all levels.

The Junior Dean will receive a stipend of £2,978.98 p.a. As a member of St John’s MCR, the post holder will be eligible for all the usual grants and allowances. Generous accommodation will be provided, including dining rights. No work is expected over the vacations and there will be time off during term time due to the rota system.
