Specialty Doctor
Joining the dedicated team at St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth could be one of the most life-enhancing moves you ever make.
We are regarded as a leader among hospices, and recognise and value our staff and volunteers who together make a vital difference to patients and their families when it matters most.
As innovative as we are compassionate, we pioneered the integrated approach to specialist palliative care that’s since been widely adopted by many other hospices, delivering high-quality seamless care for patients at home, in hospital and in hospice settings.
We are looking for a suitable clinician to join our medical team. The post is based at Turnchapel, our inpatient unit set in beautiful grounds with stunning views over the water. Ideally, you will have experience in palliative care or related specialties, but training in palliative care will be provided.
If you are a doctor who has worked in general practice, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop specialist skills in end of life medical care, working as part of a team renowned for its professionalism, kindness and camaraderie.
It’s an exciting time to join St Luke’s as we expand and develop our service to help us meet our vision of ‘a community where no person has to die alone, in pain or in distress’.
You’ll be part of a team committed to sharing its specialist knowledge to help shape the healthcare professionals of tomorrow, including fourth-year students of Peninsula Medical School.
St Luke’s are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where everyone can bring their whole selves to work.
We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in St Luke’s workforce.
These include people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people and LGBTQ+ people.
PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER SPONSORSHIP.
Closing date: 12 May 2024
Interviews: TBC
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
