**Job Description**:
We are currently seeking an exceptional and dedicated Locum Consultant Pediatrician to join our esteemed team within the [NHS Trust Name]. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced pediatrician to lead and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to children and adolescents across our diverse community.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide expert clinical care and leadership in pediatric medicine, encompassing newborn care, general pediatrics, and subspecialty areas as appropriate to the needs of the service.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for pediatric patients, ensuring adherence to evidence-based guidelines, best practices, and relevant protocols.
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical reviews to ensure integrated and coordinated care delivery for pediatric patients.
- Supervise and support junior medical staff, including Specialty Doctors, Registrars, and Foundation Year doctors, providing mentorship, guidance, and clinical teaching in line with training requirements.
- Actively engage in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, delivering lectures, tutorials, and bedside teaching to medical students, junior doctors, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies, pathways, and protocols within the pediatric department, promoting quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Participate in clinical audit, research, and service evaluation projects to enhance service delivery, clinical outcomes, and patient experience within the pediatric specialty.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with Trust policies, clinical governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert advice and consultation to colleagues, primary care providers, and external agencies on matters relating to pediatric care, child development, and safeguarding.
- Fulfill on-call responsibilities as per Trust rota requirements, providing timely and expert management of pediatric emergencies and inpatient admissions.

**Requirements**:

- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Pediatrics.
- Completion of specialty training in Pediatrics and attainment of CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or equivalent certification.
- Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH or FRCPCH).
- Demonstrated expertise and clinical competence in pediatric medicine, with experience across a broad spectrum of pediatric specialties and subspecialties.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engage with patients, families, and carers.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and professional integrity, with a focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare services.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and participation in pediatric research, audit, and quality improvement activities.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic and demanding clinical environment, including participation in on-call rotas and out-of-hours duties as required.
