The University of Cambridge is seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual to join the University's Estates Division as the Senior Delivery Manager within the Division's Business Services Team. The Division is responsible for a wide range of activities covering estate and transport planning; the commissioning, procurement, project management and maintenance of buildings; and the management of the environment, properties, facilities and supporting services. It employs about 300 staff, with a good proportion professionally qualified in academic-related posts, e.g., architects, engineers, and planners.

The Division has embarked on a significant change programme and the roleholder will be responsible for the delivery of a range of projects from initial concept through to operational deployment and the realisation of business benefits. This will require the application of a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience to support the end-to-end life cycle of the Estates Division change programme. The roleholder will be expected to contribute to the definition and continual service improvement of products, services, standards and strategy.

The role requires the day-to-day management of a varied portfolio of projects, differing in scale and complexity from small, simple enhancements, through to the development and deployment of new services and major system upgrades. The roleholder must be able to adopt flexible and appropriate approaches most suited to the needs of each ensuirng that projects are correctly specified, planned, controlled and delivered in the most beneficial and cost-effective manner.

As a senior member of the Business Services team, you will work closely with colleagues across the Division and the wider University, contributing to the development and delivery of the systems, processes and procedures needed for the effective management of the assets and services.

About You

You will have demonstrable experience of delivering projects in a matrix management organisation. In addition, you will be able to identify and pro-actively manage important risk, issues and problems.

You will prioritise, plan and monitor the work of team members and be accountable for their level of performance and success.

For this role you will need strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills. You will communicate effectively with senior management, external partners and with people at all levels across the University and the wider community.

Qualifications

You will be educated to degree level or have a relevant professional qualification or substantial experience suitable for the role.
