Job summary
The Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre at Colchester Hospital will be one of the largest centres of its kind in Europe. Delivering high volume and low complexity cases locally for the people we serve across our region.
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, experienced Senior Theatre Support Workers to join our orthopaedic team in preparation for when the centre opens in October 2024.
Alongside your duties of a Theatre Support Worker, you will support colleagues who are undertaking theatre training. You will also deputise for the Orthopaedic Liaison Support.
If you are an experienced Theatre Support Worker and are passionate about delivering high-quality patient focused care, then this could be the perfect role for you.
The Dame Clare Marx Building that will house our elective orthopaedic centre (ESEOC) opens in 2024 with a focus on elective orthopaedic surgery and day cases. The centre will have eight laminar flow theatres, three wards, recovery facilities, and support services including radiology and EBME.

Main duties of the job
o To provide patient care in the surgical environment and act as a support member of the team under the supervision of qualified members of To contribute towards maintaining stock levels and equipment within the operating theatre and the To provide support to a multi-skilled team of varying levels of expertise in a variety of orthopaedic specialties, including traumao To deputize for the Orthopaedic Liaison Support in their absence.
