At Teva Runcorn, we develop, manufacture and market innovative and affordable medicines, specialising in sterile liquid products mainly used for treating respiratory conditions using Blow-Fill-Seal technology as well as injectable Combination Products.
A Day In The Life Of A Microbiology Technician
As a Microbiology Technician, you will be responsible for providing data through Microbiological testing regimes, from which confidence in the sterility of the finished product can be found.
Please note - this role will require you to work shifts 6am - 6pm (including every other weekend).
Key responsibilities:
Monitor specified environmental conditions within cleanrooms and filling machines at the appropriate frequency. Batch summary reports, database trending.
Undertake testing of key components using good aseptic technique - including testing of in process samples and Raw Materials by T.V.A.C, Bacterial Endotoxin testing and Bacterial identification. Entering results into the Microbiology Database.
Undertake testing of Utility services (Water for Injection, Compressed Air, Cooling waters, Room Particle counting).
Undertake testing filled product for Sterility in accordance with USP/EP specifications.
Control of type cultures and in house Media QC, Media preparation and use of the autoclave.
Complete all documentation in real time and in full.
Provide advice to the manufacturing department on microbial, hygiene and contamination control.
Who We Are Looking For?
Do you have?
A degree in Microbiology / Biological Science or similar
Experience working in a Pharmaceutical Lab would be preferred, although not essential
Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
Are you?
Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel etc
Someone who takes pride in organisation with a keen eye for detail
Able to work effectively with peers, partners and others
