Oxfordshire, United Kingdom Fleet Tutors Full time

Fleet Education Services is searching for experienced primary Tutors to provide enduring, in-person support to young learners in Oxfordshire.

About us

Fleet Education Services is a leading provider of quality supplementary and alternative provision throughout the UK. With our commitment to excellence, we strive to empower students and help them achieve their academic goals through our tailored 1:1 and small group education programmes, delivered by our specialist tutors who share in our aim to ensure that every learner we support thrives.

The role

We have learners who need you to make a difference to their lives now; this is your opportunity to provide meaningful, holistic support to young people referred to us that demonstrate additional learning requirements or who are struggling to meet age-related academic expectations. Learners referred to us will generally require tuition either in their own homes with a parent/guardian present for the session, or at their school.

We regularly receive opportunities to tutor throughout Oxfordshire, with in-person placements arising in Oxford, Bicester, Abingdon, Wallingford, Didcot, Witney, Banbury and Chadlington. Our tutors have full control over the hours and placements that they accept from us - applicants with excellent availability for in-person tutoring will be offered considerable hours on a weekly basis, including daytime opportunities.

If you’re an engaging teacher or tutor, experienced in supporting core primary level subjects and who would relish the opportunity to work with learners in their own homes or schools delivering tuition on a 1:1 or small group basis, then we’d love to welcome you into our passionate tutoring community.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver personalised primary level lesson plans designed to engage, inspire and teach.
  • Provide tailored guidance and support for your learners throughout each tuition placement.
  • Monitor your learner's progress and provide constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure your learner's academic success.
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and learner performance through our virtual learning platform.

What we offer

  • Competitive weekly renumeration through PAYE.
  • Control over your workload; flexible roles that fit around your existing commitments and availability.
  • Ongoing training opportunities that count towards your CPD and provide insight into working with SEN learners.
  • A dedicated Tuition Consultant who will work closely with you, matching you to opportunities that meet your preferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s level degree or teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS).
  • Minimum 6 months teaching/tutoring experience within the UK.
  • Experience of working with pupils at secondary level essential.
  • Previous experience and passion for working with learners demonstrating SEN, SEMH learning needs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum for primary level subjects.
  • A commitment to safeguarding.
  • Must live and be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Must be willing to undertake a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and referencing process, as well as subscribing to the DBS Update Service.

Diversity and Inclusion: We work together.

Fleet Education Services’ mission is to select and support the UK’s best tutors to meet the needs of our clients, and as such our people are placed at the heart of everything we do.  We believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce has a positive impact on all our learners and together, we can help them reach their goals.  To that end, we welcome all applications regardless of religion, age, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability status or any other aspect which makes you unique.

Applying

In line with the statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe In Education (KCSIE), all candidates must pass our strict processes to ensure their suitability to work with children and young people before being considered for work with us.  Our privacy policy can be viewed on our website.  As part of our due diligence, additional online searches will be conducted on shortlisted candidates. This advert is for a temporary position; successful applicants will be listed as agency workers.
