OPERATIONS SITE SUPERVISOR - SOUTHAMPTON DOCKS


We have a new full-time and permanent opening for a hands-on Site Supervisor to work alongside our site Manager in a supporting role taking ownership of running the terminal when it is needed.


This will be a busy role based in the docks which will require you to work as part of the team in the yard and be able to turn your hand to all operations and to ensure our facility is running as efficiently as possible and so that we are able to deliver quality nutrient blends for our farmer customers to be able to grow arable cereal crops.


The Site Supervisor role will encompass all aspects of our plant operations and working with the team to cover all day to day duties which will include:


  • Working with the team to learn all tasks to be able to lead from the front.      


  • Coordinating ships arrivals and departures.


  • Oversee the blending and bagging process from start to finish. 


  •  Overseeing operations from the control room to run all plant throughput when required.


  • Loading finished product by fork-lift onto our own Churchill Freight Services Ltd lorries.


  • Helping to supervise, organise, support, and motivate the team.

We have our own haulage company, Churchill Freight Services Ltd and two further depots in Halisham, West Sussex and Sparkford, Somerset. All these facilities and sites make our company proportionately the best resourced Agrifood business in the United Kingdom.

About You:


Fork-Lift Truck operation, with a minimum of 1 years' experience and confident with a counterbalance,


Experience of driving a Volvo shovel would be advantageous.


There will be some manual handling as part of the role, demanding a reasonable level of fitness.


Previous similar work experience gained within warehousing, logistics or dock side environment in a supervisory position.


Knowledge of MS office, Excel or equivalent Operations System and confident with working with a control panel.


You will need to be organised, able to run systems and process with attention to detail to ensure processes are maintained.


Good communicator with the ability to lead from the front.


Knowledge of safe systems and work gained from within a similar supervisory role would be advantageous.
