As a Chef de Partie you will oversee each section with directive from the Sous chef. You will get assistance from Commis Chefs and Demi Chef de Parties. They will also ensure levels of food hygiene are to the required standard and that dishes within your section are executed to the correct specification all in-keeping with The 5* Hotel's Tone of Voice.

Personal Attributes

  • Can take responsibilities for any section of the kitchen and meet standards in health and hygiene, staffing and organisational planning, recipe standards, promotion of learning environment, and food quality and preparation.
  • Participates in the development of recipes.
  • Food product knowledge, and an understanding of menu content and impact, and pricing guidelines.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Has a confident ability to communicate and establish rapport.
  • Knowledge of the hotel's systems and procedures
  • Holds a minimum of a level 2 Food and Hygiene certificate

Area of responsibility

  • Ensures the highest quality of product within cost constraints by managing and overseeing food preparation.
  • Assists in overseeing all kitchen operational areas.
  • Follows proper staffing guidelines.
  • Stores unused food properly to minimize waste and maximize quality.
  • Provides employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities.
  • Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with on-going feedback.
  • Provides employees with coaching and counselling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential.
