Ecologist – Inverness/ Highlands - (Hybrid/ remote working)

 

Overview

Our clients are an established Ecological Consultancy who are looking for the next important additions to their team. As part of the companies ongoing growth they are currently looking for an experienced Ecologist to join their growing team. The company pride themselves on delivering a professional and high-quality service to clients, whether that be individual home-owners or working on large infrastructure projects.   

 

The company have a well-established ecology team that is continuously growing, depending on your experience level you will get the opportunity to manage more junior team members whilst still being hands-on with ecology duties. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver successful surveys, provide detailed technical reports, be on site providing support and guidance to clients, and also support the wider team on projects requirements.

 

There is the opportunity to join this growing consultancy at varying levels, including assistant, intermediate and senior ecologist. Salary and responsibilities will be reflective of your experience level but this presents an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative team, with hybrid working options and excellent career progression on offer. This company are happy to support achieving protected species licences to further your development.

 

Successful applicants will meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 1years commercial experience as an ecologist, ideally hold at least 1 protected species licence (we are open on which one(s) you hold).  
  • Preferably have come from an Ecology/ environmental related degree, but we are open to candidates who have gained experience “on the job”.
  • Be capable of undertaking surveys, producing technical reports and supporting teams on project sites.
  • You should have detailed knowledge of relevant UK/EU environmental legislation and confidence in discussing these with clients.
  • Hold a full and clean UK driving licence.
  • This position is remote based/ working from home – site visits will be across the highlands with the occasional requirement to be in Inverness, so travel between these locations must be achievable.
