This is a GB based role, therefore some travel to the depot network with overnight will be required.

Key Responsibilities
Provide pertinent professional advice to others across the Hope Site and our Depots and Terminals within a timely manner in order to facilitate informed decision makingFacilitate incident investigations, including identification of immediate and root causes and the generation of suitable actionsAssist with the development and implementation of health & safety programs including training and competency frameworks Assist with establishing and maintaining a suitable framework to ensure legal compliance with regards to health & safety mattersSeek out relevant best practice outside the business and sector to then bring back and deliver suitable implementation plansUndertake regular audits and inspections to determine compliance with H&S legislative requirements.Organise and facilitate training as required and manage training records.Oversee the induction programme for visitors and contractor partners when required.Wider interaction with other businesses within the Breedon Group
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Qualifications:NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent)IOSH membershipNEBOSH National Diploma - advantageousExperience:Extensive relevant health & safety advisory experienceExcellent track record for managing leading and lagging health & safety metrics in order to improve health & safety performance.Demonstrable level of competency in auditing.Skills and knowledge:Thorough knowledge of relevant H&S legislationCompetent risk assessorAbility to mentor/coach fellow auditors and auditeesCurrent knowledge of behaviour-based safety would be desirableUnderstanding of safety culture developmentExcellent oral and written communication skillsSound understanding of business management systems including relevant Standards e.g. OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001Awareness of generally available data & information in relation to such matters as industrial health trendsExcellent engagement skillsGood knowledge of core IT systemsYou will be a confident, driven and dedicated individual, with strong influencing and leadership skills. You will also be able to actively demonstrate self-sufficiency and strong personal integrity. The ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and demonstrate clear thinking and control in times of pressure are also essential.
