Behaviour Mentor

A fantastic Social Emotional Mental Health school (SEMH) in Rawtenstall, is looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants to join their expert team. The school caters for children with mental health needs and/ or other additional special education needs that all have an educational health care plan (EHCP). They are looking for staff that are compassionate, creative and can take on a mentoring approach when providing constant support for the children.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should:

Have experience or a passion for working with children with SEN.

Experience with SEMH.

Be flexible, proactive, and patient.

Be nurturing and caring in your approaches.

Be able to communicate effectively within a team.

Be open to providing personal care.

Have a Background in Education, Care, Psychology or Drama, as these are very transferable.

The role would be a combination of supporting the small classes and an element of 1:1 work, therefore being flexible and proactive is key. Their small class sizes ensure that all learners benefit from a consistent and supportive approach from all staff, including therapists, and are given every opportunity to thrive and develop as individuals.

Experience is by no means required, so this is a great opportunity if you’re looking to kick start a career in special education or just develop your existing skills further.

The school’s hours of this role are 8.30am – 3:30pm.

If you are looking to kick-start a career in SEN, or you’re an experienced SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant looking for a new role, please register by submitting your CV and Keira will contact you within the next 24 hours.
