Main Duties

  • Workingon various projects with the EHS team, act as the lead and preparedto present out plans to keystakeholders
  • Demonstrate initiative indeveloping EHS programmes and initiating changeprocesses
  • Develop a good understanding of theEHS management system in line with legal requirements and corporatestandards
  • Provide EHS advice and guidance,using escalation techniques whenrequired
  • Working knowledge of risk assessmentand initiating action plans
  • Point of contactand lead in ensuring compliance to COSHH regulations throughoutUK
  • Lead and participate in audits, inspectionsand incident investigations, in any area of the site, which mayinvolve using a ladder, working at height as well as physicallyaccessing confined, underground and roofspaces
  • Prepare and present at site EHScommittee meetings, attend and support functional EHS Committeemeetings
  • Working knowledge and understanding ofEnvironmental compliance, chair Sustainability team meetings andwork together driving improvements and compliance in line withlegislative, ISO standards and Raytheon corporaterequirements
  • Ensure all documentation isavailable to present to legal compliance auditor for Environmentaland Health and Safety Audits
  • Assistance withsite compliance and completion of compliancetasks
  • Participates in continuous improvementactivities applying CORE principles
  • Keeps up todate with EHS requirements
  • Report writing onEHS related issues and performance objectives andmetrics
  • Ability to work to timescales, achievepersonal goals and contribute to teameffectiveness

CandidateRequirements

Education

  • Appropriateprofessional qualification at a minimum NEBOSH GeneralCertificate
  • Environmental qualification orequivalent
  • Chemical background/ awareness ofchemical management systemspreferred.

Essential

  • Knowledgeand experience of working within the parameters ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • Detailed knowledge of UK Statutoryregulation concerning Environment, Health andSafety
  • Working knowledge of General andHazardous waste hierarchy
  • Good understanding ofCOSHH and all associated requirements
  • Previousexperience in relation to Health and Safety Training and creationof content, ensuring audit ready at alltimes
  • Relevant experience in amanufacturing/engineeringenvironment
  • Proficient at report writing,creating and presenting presentations using Microsoft office tools(in particular: Excel, Word andPowerPoint)
  • Project managementexperience
  • High level of initiative andcommitted to meeting goals
  • Member of a relevantrecognised industry professional body (e.g. IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM) orworking towards
  • and analyticalskills
  • Current holder of or eligibility toobtain MoD Secret (SC) level securityclearance

Desirable

  • Willingnessto enhance existing knowledge and qualifications and obtain anauditing qualification (ISO 14001 and ISO45001).
