Social Media Executive

As Social Media Executive, you will work within our Audience Development team to develop and grow our thriving communities across our YouTube channels and social media platforms.
This role will focus on interacting with our audiences (including replying to comments and messages, and monitoring feedback) plus driving traffic to our road cycling and triathlon channels. You’ll make sure that as many people see – and interact with – our content as possible, and that our viewers feel part of the community when they do so.
Reporting to the Head of Community & Road, this is the perfect role for someone who loves cycling and has a keen interest in the media. We want someone who cares passionately about cycling, and will celebrate someone’s first 10k ride as much as their 100th 100km ride.
You’ll be confident in quickly picking up our tone of voice, and cultivating thriving social communities by interacting with our audiences across all of our platforms.
The Role
- Maintain a high level of community engagement across all platforms for our GCN (inc. subchannels) and GTN channels
- Support the wider team with tagging content for commercial reporting
- Support video and social media publishing across our Road & Triathlon channels
- Other relevant social media and community management duties as required
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required
Skills
- Good knowledge and understanding of road cycling, and/or triathlon. You’ll be as comfortable explaining how to start riding as discussing the latest tech
- Strong communication skills to respond to comments, questions, mentions & queries
- Able to learn quickly and adapt to changes in organisational / business priorities as our community is always active
- Efficient at problem-solving / conflict resolution professionally and diplomatically
- Proactively engaging with the community by initiating discussions, trending topics etc
- An eye for detail, able to analyse and report on themes/patterns you see emerging in our communities
Knowledge
- A good knowledge of all types of cycling and bike technology, or a strong track record of picking this knowledge up quickly
- Familiar with social media platforms and community management tools
- Basic knowledge of public relations principles to protect and build a brand
Experience
- Experience in managing communities and/or customer service in a related area would be an advantage.
- Written fluency in Spanish, French, German or Italian would be an advantage, though not a requirement.
- Good written English. You’ll be communicating with our community from day 1, so good spelling and grammar, plus the ability to write succinct copy are musts.
- Knowledge of tone of voice. You’ll be able to communicate in writing across a range of subject matters; from promotional posts to customer service messages to having fun with the brands’ personality
