Job summary

The Stroke Team at Hampshire Hospitals are actively recruiting a band 6 nurse to join our inpatient team for a 1 year secondment. We provide hyper-acute, acute and rehabilitative care throughout the inpatient stroke journey.

The Band 6 role is the key supporting function to the Band 7 to enable the optimal care of our patients and to the success of our Trust. The delivery of a high quality, effective and compassionate care is the most important role within the organisation.

Main duties of the job

An existing Band 6 registered Nurse compassionate, energetic individual with a genuine dedication to stroke patients. Someone who works well in a team. Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients and relatives/carers. Experience in stroke care or neurology is preferred but not essentia

Training & Qualifications

Essential

Able to demonstrate a good command of the English Language both written and verbal Professional UK registration NMC, HPC Post registration qualification(s) in field of expertise Formal training &/or experience in mentorship Computer Literate

Desirable

Member of relevant special interest group Communication skills learning and/or development

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile Experience of staff supervision including workforce budgets and staff development planning Experience of staff supervision and mentorship including, employee relations, performance, conduct and training needs analysis

Desirable

Experience of project management for policy development or large scale projects

Skills & Ability

Essential

Clinical Skills appropriate to the relevant speciality Ability to work and lead within a multidisciplinary team across an organisation Understanding of effective clinical governance including implications, quality and audit
