In response to the ongoing growth in theirDesign division my client is seeking a Senior Overhead Line DesignEngineer to join their team.

The roleencompasses a range of design tasks including profiling routingload and strength analysis foundation design and conductorselection studies.

As an integral part of adiverse team they are looking for individuals who possess not onlytechnical proficiency but also strong problemsolving skills and theability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across alllevels.

Additionally the role involves projectand program planning coordination between various disciplines andthe development of design processes.

Given thecurrent regulatory focus on transforming the energy sector in GreatBritain to achieve Net Zero goals joining this vital infrastructuresector presents an exciting opportunity for professionals in thefield.

Tasks
  • Developand review overhead line design solutions ensuring compliance withindustry standards and regulations.
  • Conductsite surveys and analyse the structural integrity of existing andproposed OHL installations.
  • Prepare detaileddesigns drawings specifications and cost estimates for overheadline projects.
  • Collaborate with clients andstakeholders to understand project requirements and providetechnical expertise.
  • Oversee the constructiontesting and commissioning of overhead line installations ensuringadherence to project timelines and budgetaryconstraints.
  • Conduct technical reviews andinspections to ensure the quality and safety of OHLdesigns.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance tojunior engineers fostering a collaborative and supportive workenvironment.
Requirements
  • Bachelorsdegree in Electrical Engineering or a relatedfield.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience inoverhead line design and engineering.
  • Strongknowledge of power systems electrical safety and relevant industrystandards (e.g. NESC RUS).
  • Proficiency in usingdesign software such as PLSCADD PLSPOLE andAutoCAD.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills andability to troubleshoot technicalissues.
  • Strong written and verbal communicationskills with the ability to effectively communicate complextechnical concepts to stakeholders.
  • Provenability to work independently and collaborate with crossfunctionalteams.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensepreferred.
