A day in the life of an Ascent Financial Accountant

As the Financial Accountant you will be part of a dedicated Finance team. You will build relationships with our stakeholders across the business including our customer(s) and suppliers, lending banks, professional advisors, shareholder support functions, HMRC and other government departments, Operations, Programmes and Site teams. You will have the opportunity to experience both our headquarters and operating sites. You will:

  • Prepare the monthly consolidated and individual company management accounts
  • Ensure financial records and financial information for all companies in group are accurate and secure
  • Review financial information and transactions prepared by the Finance Assistant
  • Be responsible for preparation of information for government reports and statistics
  • Preparation of the statutory financial statements and assisting in the relationship with the external auditors
  • Support the Finance Manager to maintain relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with finance policies and procedures
  • Be responsible for management of the general ledger chart of accounts and other accounting software


What will make you successful?

Good communication skills working in a finance department of 13 and in a business of 350 people across multiple sites

Good attention to detail and an ability to work independently and self-review work

Good time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
