Assistant Buyer

We are currently seeking a proactive and efficient Assistant Buyer to join our team on a 12-month FTC. As a key member of our buying department, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and timely procurement of materials and equipment. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in the buying world, such as those with a background as a Buying/Purchasing Administrator or Assistant Buyer, looking to further their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
What will you be doing?
Your responsibilities will include working closely with the buying team to manage purchasing activities, such as researching suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, and placing orders efficiently. You will collaborate with other departments to understand their needs and align procurement processes accordingly. Additionally, you will monitor inventory levels, track order statuses, and address any issues to ensure timely delivery.
You will also:
- Liaise with suppliers, planning teams, operations managers, and site teams, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
- Ensure that all materials and equipment are delivered within the required timeframe.
- Raise purchase orders, verify invoices, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Proactively address any issues or delays in the procurement process to minimize disruptions.
- Continuously seek improvements and implement changes to enhance the efficiency of the department.
- Utilize a variety of office software, including email, spreadsheets, and databases.
The Person:
Working closely with our experienced buying team, your exceptional communication skills and ability to prioritise tasks will be essential in coordinating purchasing activities. Your attention to detail and dedication to achieving results will significantly contribute to our organization's success.
