Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Catering Assistant to work as part of our team in the Catering Department at Whitchurch Community Hospital.

We are looking for a reliable, motivated and flexible individual with good communication and interpersonal skills suited to the special needs of a hospital environment along with a commitment to provide a high quality catering service and work as part of a team.

We offer flexible working to maintain good work life balance with equal opportunities.Uniform and full training is provided.

Please note that the start time for each shift is 7:30 am.

Main duties of the job

Working within a small team to maintain high excellent standards of cleaning, wash up duties and preparation of sandwiches within the catering department.

Wash up duties including using dishwasher. Preparation of tea/coffee trolleys for meetings. Preparation of sandwiches/vegetables, etc. Assist with deliveries and putting into store rooms. Maintaining high standards of PPE, COSHH, SCHT Guidelines, etc. Maintaining high standard of cleanliness of staff dining room.

Qualifications

Essential

Ability to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills. Food Hygiene (level 2) certificate or the willingness to work towards within 12 months.

Demonstrable previous commercial catering experience.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

General awareness of safety in the workplace. Ability to prioritise work. Good organisational skills.
