Post description

Purpose of the Job:
The Senior Project Planner is responsible for managing (creating, updating, verifying coherence etc.)
Project schedules by reviewing and compiling various project elements from different departments,
with the support of the ASN Project Team. The Senior Project Planner is also responsible for measuring
the project’s progress by verifying, for each Work Package of the agreed project plan, the progress of
the planned figures with the actual ones. This includes scenario development and analysis, risk
identification, and proposing mitigation measures to the Project Team where appropriate. This
position aims to support the Project Team members to ensure a common understanding of the
project’s progress and risks such that they can develop a plan to successfully execute their part of the
work. It is likely that two concurrent plans (internal and external) may be required.

Responsibilities:
 Preparation and coordination of the project plan (Plan of Work/POW - the detailed project
schedule);
 Verifying to the extent possible the integrity of the data inputs for the POW and checking
consistency between the tasks;
 Documenting and monitoring of progress inside the POW or by using additional tools such as Excel
or PowerPoint for project metrics;
 Preparing and presenting updates of project schedules to Customers as required by project teams;
 Identifying changes and recommending preventive and/or mitigation actions;
 Analysis of risks and assessment of impact of delays;
 Monitoring adherence of a project’s schedule with the agreed plan(s) both internal and external
(Customer focused);
 Collaborating with the project team to maintain and update the project schedule on a regular
basis;
 Identifying the critical paths, dependencies across projects and alerting Project teams to areas of
conflict, priority issues, bottlenecks and associated consequences;
 Supporting project teams in monthly reporting of costs, progress, and related metrics;
 Proposing and acting with the Project planning team for internal improvement projects.
 Supporting internal Project reporting processes and proposing/managing improvements.

Wanted profil

Requirements:
 Experience of project planning within high-value ($M+) multidisciplinary projects, preferably
with undersea/telecoms relevance

not have English as a first language

 Ability to quickly develop a technical appreciation of submarine cable projects
 Very strong IT skills, especially in the management of complex and non-numerical data
