We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practice Nurse to join & help lead our team to make a real difference in the lives of our patients. This role is now supported by an admin assistant.
The Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic & experienced Senior Practice Nurse ideally with a background in managing diabetes & possessing contraceptive skills or the desire to further their training in these areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide leadership to our excellent nursing team, including nurses, healthcare assistants (HCAs), a nursing associate, & a training registered nurse.
About You:
Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. Experience in diabetes management as desirable & ideally contraceptive skills & an openness to developing these skills further. Proven leadership & management experience within a healthcare setting as desirable. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. A passion for developing others & driving innovation in patient care.What We Offer:

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the efficient running of the treatment room, ensuring high standards of care. Lead, manage, and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Be creative in developing and implementing new initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery. Provide expert clinical care and advice in diabetes management and contraceptive services. Support and mentor team members, encouraging their growth and development in their roles.
About us
The Family Practice has a large patient base and an equally large team to support the patient needs. The teams work closely together and are very supportive of each other. It's not unusual to find cakes by the kettle, to sit in our lovely gardens with a colleague or to go for a lunch time walk. For the more sporty - we have a few runners in the practice too. We have a bike to work scheme and offer a large car park for our staff and patients.
The practice is very supportive of career development and further learning is supported.
The practice is one of four in our PCN which works collaboratively to provide the best patient care for our patients.

Job responsibilities
Job Summary:
To lead the Treatment room team in meeting The Family Practice objectives by maintaining clinical nursing standards, supervising and developing the team to their full potential and providing a nursing service which is focused on long term care to our patient population. This role is now supported by a Treatment Room Admin assistant.
Roles/Specific Tasks:
Managerial:
- Supervise staff to maintain required professional standards
-Supervise staff to adhere to internal protocols
-To assist in developing the nursing team in meeting their own potential and fulfilling practice objectives
- Maintain nursing procedures, ensuring staff understand the requirements and adhere to the agreed protocols
- Act as Infection Control Lead, advising and training colleagues as needed
_ Ensure other nursing staff undertake agreed duties, and that there are adequate staff present to meet the practice needs
- Undertake staff annual appraisals
Clinical:
Provision of nursing care within agreed competencies, which is likely to include:
- Long Term Conditions care to meet QOF targets
-Cytology
-Wound Care
-Travel Clinics
- Vacs and Imms programs (including baby clinics)
- Family Planning
The job holder will manager their own development and training to maintain their skills, including any mandatory aspects to training and/or qualifications needed. The job holder will undertake a sufficient number of procedures to maintain skill levels, phlebotomy, but may not normally undertake this type of procedures during standard daily duties.
Such other tasks as the partner or Business Manager may reasonably request.

Essential
NMC registered nurse A demonstrable commitment to professional development
Desirable
Diabetes and /or sexual health qualification or the desire to obtain qualifications in these areas Able to mentor/coach other team members
Experience
Essential
Skills and experience to provide and lead practice nursing in general practice Able to consult with patients over the telephone
Desirable
Experienced manager/leader of MDTs Experience of operating within general practice
Knowledge/Qualities
