Concierge Security Officer

UHI is an integrated university encompassing both further and higher education with a reputation built on an innovative approach to learning.

We are looking for someone who can communicate at all levels and has the ability to remain calm and professional in a range of situations, quickly assessing and diffusing situations in line with UHI policies and values. If you have your SIA license then great, if not, we will pay for you to complete the course

No experience necessary, full training will be given

Please note: An enhanced DBS is mandatory for this role and will be paid for by Kingdom.

Where: Fort William, PH33 area.

When: We’re looking to get the right person in to the team ASAP

Salary: £12.00 per hour.

Hours: On average 60 hours per week, shifts as per site rota. Monday to Friday 07:00am - 19:00pm.

What you will be doing:

  • Acting as an initial point of contact for visitors to site.
  • Ensuring the overall safety and security of the premises out of hours / Patrolling of site.
  • Monitoring access to the premises and visitors.
  • Performing Health & Safety checks as and when necessary.
  • Reporting incidents and anti-social behaviour to the relevant authorities.
  • Recording information accurately and effectively.
  • Implementing policies and procedures to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Ensuring culture and diversity issues for the clients are considered at all times, and report any forms of discrimination.

What do we need from you?

  • Excellent communication & customer service skills.
  • Physically fit and flexible in duties undertaken.
  • Professional in approach, with a balanced sense of judgement, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
  • A full five-year checkable employment history.
