Brickworks, a leader in the building products industry, seeks a dynamic Plant Manager to join our masonry manufacturing plant in Ayr, Queensland. Reporting to the North Queensland Regional Manager, you will oversee the direction of the activities within the plant to optimise the use of resources, minimise costs and maintain safety, quality and customer service standards. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum operational efficiency and continual improvement of all personnel, systems and the plant. 

Duties include but are not limited to

•Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with relevant legislation, local requirements, and environmental standards, and implement WH&S initiatives.
•Translate organisational objectives into a plant management plan, determining requirements for current and future capacities, including capital expenditure budgets.
•Develop production and preventative maintenance schedules, raw material requirements, systems infrastructure, and inventory levels.
•Investigate and implement improvements to processes, productivity, quality, cost control, and customer service.
•Ensure efficient and effective procurement, warehousing, and distribution of finished goods.
•Establish quality standards and controls to produce products in accordance with the production plan.
•Manage production plans to optimise inventory and facilitate the achievement of sales plans/budgets.
•Conform to meet environmental responsibilities.
•Establish quality standards and controls to produce products in accordance with the production plan, monitoring product quality and quantities.
•Review production schedules daily with the Production Supervisor to optimise inventory and facilitate sales targets.
•Oversee general maintenance of buildings, plant, and equipment, with authority to stop production if output doesn't meet specifications.
•Promote sound working relationships with employees and unions, leading and developing the team.
•Manage stock and development of new products.

Success Requirements:

•Bachelor of Engineering or relevant discipline preferred.
•Extensive knowledge of manufacturing site management with 5-10 years’ experience.
•Excellent communication skills, strong teamwork, and collaboration abilities.
•Proficiency in project management.
•Familiarity with ERP programs and Microsoft Office.
•Effective people management skills and problem-solving aptitude.
• Ability to develop, execute, and monitor production plans.
• Ability to set and manage plant and capital budgets and have experience in P&L management.
