The role

Spectacle Makers at Cubitts will ultimately be responsible for making spectacle frames for our wonderful, adoring and sometimes impatient customers – consistently, to the highest quality, and on time.

Reports directly to the Production Manager.

This will include:

  • Making Bespoke and Bespoke+ orders, received via our stores or online.
  • Creating small and large commercial runs of frames.
  • Managing the production of all prototypes, samples and experimental frames.
  • Producing CAD and CNC drawings.
  • Operating equipment such as in-house CNC machine, laser cutter, barrels, bridge bumpers, etc.
  • Sourcing materials (acetate, horn and optical hardware) and machinery to develop the workshop.
  • Managing all frame repairs and ‘rehab’ services.
  • Frame matting, nosepads additions and other adjustments.
  • Training others on making spectacles, including frame making classes to the general public.

Requirements

Who you are

  • A passionate maker, with experience of making spectacles or optics a significant bonus.
  • Experience of CNC and modern production methods.
  • Be a self-starter with plenty of energy, and outstanding at working under your own initiative and under pressure and passionate about meeting deadlines.
  • Have an impeccable eye and passion for design and detail, and high quality standards.

Contract: Full time 40 hours, Monday-Friday.

Salary: Senior Associate £28,371
