Job summary

Bank Clinical Pharmacist - Band 8a

We are looking for enthusiastic pharmacists to join our growing bank pharmacy team for working anything up to hrs a week. Your base will be one of the 2 main sites- the main ones being Aintree or Royal Liverpool Hospital

Main duties of the job include providing a clinical pharmacist service to nominated wards within Liverpool Univeristy Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT). This will require working across a range ofspecialities including Emergency care, medical and surgical wards, taking medication histories and reviewing mediciation to optimise patient care .

To deliver as part of a team, the provision of a comprehensive, safe and cost effective pharmaceutical service to the Trust and its patients.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Responsible for the management and development of the directorate pharmacy service to achieve a high standard of efficiency and effectiveness. Responsible for the provision of highly specialist pharmaceutical service to the directorate areas. Advise on strategies to ensure cost-effective use of resources. Provide pharmaceutical expertise to any multidisciplinary working groups considering protocols, policies and guidelines in the specialist area. Produces protocols, policies and guidelines on designated pharmaceuticalpractice relating to the directorate Service. Deals with high level pharmaceutical queries and provides advice to medical and nursing staff from the directorate areas including senior medical staff. Provides regular reports for the directorate on drug expenditure including exception reporting and other agreed performance indicators relating to directorates. Undertake audit annually and risk manage selected areas of practice to promote continuous quality improvement. Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

MPharm or equivalent Post graduate clinical qualification Member of the GPhC

Desirable

Management qualification MSc MRPharmS

Experience

Essential

Demonstrable post registration hospital experience Delivery of clinical pharmacy services to a broad range of specialities Effective working within a multidisciplinary clinical team

Desirable

Leading and supervising Acute Teaching Trust/Tertiary Referral Centre experience
