We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Healthcare to join the team at HMP Leicester, a Category B prison located in Leicester city centre. HMP Leicester is a male prison, with operational capacity of around 350. This is a local remand prison, and therefore has a high turnover of inmates and patients. 

This is a unique opportunity to manage the healthcare department by leading on, and maintaining the service as agreed with NHS England. You will become part of the senior leadership team within the prison, ensuring that the healthcare division is fully embedded within the prison. Face to face interviews will be held on 26 July. Hours: Monday - Friday between 09:00 - 17:30 ( hours per week) with flexibility on start and finish times, as well as on call responsibilities. Salary: This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £60,000per annum - depending on experience, plus car allowance and bonus. How will we support you?

Main duties of the job

As our new Head of Healthcare, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

Provide management of the healthcare services on site, with overall responsibility for delivering a highly functional clinical service, within agreed budgets Maintain the strategic direction of the service, and deliver on agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England  Lead, develop and motivate your team to deliver the best service possible Work closely with senior management within the prison, as well as the finance business partner and regional manager
