Data Evaluation Officer

Overview of the Role

Faculty of Medicine and Health

Leeds Institute of Medical Education

Data Evaluation Officer

Fixed term for 12 months because there is need for temporary cover.

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Do you enjoy working with data while paying sharp attention to detail? Do you want to help support the training of the next generation of doctors by assuring medical education standards? Are you committed to working for high quality outcomes?

The University of Leeds is one of the top 75 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.

Working in the School of Medicine, you will be responsible for collecting and processing the evaluation data for educational activity, primarily for our medical student placements. We use student feedback throughout all five years of the course to monitor and improve education quality. Using established systems, you will produce qualitative and quantitative data in usable formats for senior colleagues ensuring any specific trends or issues are highlighted. You will assist with preparing this data for external organisations who provide placements to students undertaking the MBChB, reporting against General Medical Council performance indicators. You will work closely with senior colleagues who are responsible for quality assurance. The role is based within the School’s placement partnerships team who have built excellent relationships with health providers and together enable the financial, operational and quality assurance mechanisms that underpin the University’s medical student placements. The data you produce will be shared with senior colleagues in GP practices, hospital trusts and other healthcare providers who teach our students; it will drive educational improvement and deliver a better student experience. The reputation of the School and University is dependent on robust and accurate systems and the role requires someone with a passion for quality and accuracy.
