An exciting opportunity has arisen on the Acute Cardiac Unit, a busy and dynamic 14 bedded unit comprising of 8 centrally monitored and 6 telemetry beds. Our remit is wide and expanding, covering Primary PCI, Myocardial Infarction, heart failure, pacing and arrhythmia management.

The Acute Cardiac Unit is currently looking for a Band 5 staff nurse to join our friendly team in delivering high quality and patient-centered care. You will need to be hard working, keen to develop and be able to work as part of a team in a pressured environment. In return we provide a supportive working and learning environment and will encourage you in your personal and professional development.

Applicants must be able to work a flexible shift pattern including day and night shifts.

Main duties of the job

Experience in an acute setting would be a real advantage as would rhythm recognition skills and an in-date IILS certification. Training and mentorship support will be available for the right applicant.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care to a defined patient group either within the acute hospital or community based setting. They are responsible for the assessment, development, delivery and evaluation of evidence based individualised patient care within the boundaries of their role.

The post holder will contribute to the continuing development of standards of care including developments of nursing standards and monitoring of outcomes. The post holder will be expected to continue with their own professional development.

Qualifications

Essential

First Level Registered Nurse Current/live registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council

Desirable

Diploma/Degree qualification Teaching/Assessor Qualification ENB 998 or equivalent Qualification /Experience in teaching and assessing
