The school is a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Mental Health (SEMH) school located in the Wirral, committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children who have faced significant challenges in their lives. Role and Responsibilities: As a 1-1 Learning Support Staff member, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting  students on their educational journey. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individualized support to children, fostering a safe and comfortable learning environment.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students to help them feel secure and understood.
  • Implementing tailored learning strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Handling challenging situations with calmness and resilience, ensuring the well-being of all students.
  • Acting as a positive role model, demonstrating empathy, patience, and non-judgmental support.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create comprehensive support plans.
  • Encouraging and motivating students to engage in their learning and break down any barriers they may face.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs, is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, child development, or mental health are advantageous desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
