The Role

We are looking to recruit a Health Care Assistant to join the Trauma & Orthopaedic Ward at University Hospital Wishaw

The Health Care Assistant will carry out:

Assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward/department environment Routine personal care checks and assist with routine examination duties for patients, in support of (and supervised by), a registered nurse/clinician.

The successful candidate will also ensure a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy.

Dutie may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.

Contract type

Band 2 / Permanent / Part Time / 6.77 hours per week

What we'll need you to bring

Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous volunteer or work experience in a health, education or social environment. Required to undertake on the job training and induction Undertake mandatory HCSW standards Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment. Working knowledge of basic information technology.

It would be great if you also have:

Previous experience within acute NHS Have an interest in Trauma and Orthopaedics Able to work internal rotation i.e. 12.5-hour day & night shifts
