Adult Cardiac Critical Care unit

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Health Care worker to join the Adult Cardiac Critical Care Unit at the Barts Heart Centre based at St Bartholomew. The Barts Heart centre is a cardiac hospital that accepts elective and emergency patients as well as patients that are admitted via the busy heart attack centre.

The post holder will need to have excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to caring for patients within the critical care environment.

The successful candidate will support the ward manager and the team in ensuring quality of care is constantly improving and the service is developing and supporting Trust objectives and values

As part of the recruitment process for this post, candidates will be required to complete an online literacy and numeracy test and only if they pass this, will they be invited to a formal interview

Qualifications / Knowledge

Essential criteria

GCSE in maths and English language or minimum of Key Skills Level 1 in literacy and numeracy. Experience of working with the public and demonstrating strong customer care skills.

Desirable criteria

Health care / caring experience NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare Experience in working in a team

Good verbal communication Clear written communication Able to use own initiative Ability to work under supervision Able to work calmly within the pressured environment

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Knowledge of the principles of confidentiality and the Data Protection Act. Understanding of the need for respect, trust, courtesy and effective communication with both patients and staff.
