Are you looking for a step in your IT career? The purpose of this graduate role is to work closely with the IT Department Lead and the wider IT Team to deliver a comprehensive, thorough, efficient IT support service to users on site whilst minimising downtime and increasing system availability

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Become the point of contact for all day-to-day IT fault support calls and IT work requests, including PCs, laptops, and workstations.
  • Perform system builds, installations and upgrades for existing and new users across all estates, covering PCs, laptops, and workstations.
  •  Assist in supporting the specialised and bespoke hardware and software systems configurations found within the Mechanical and Electrical Design offices, including but not limited to CAD, design and drawing packages.
  •  Assisting in supporting the printer and plotter estate ensuring a reliable, compliant, and secure printing service is available across the business.
  • Carry out weekly backups, and data restores for users.
  •  Assist with virus outbreaks and cyber threats.
  • Carry out software updates and maintain system compliance.
  •  Liaise with third party corporate IT Service Providers to ensure a holistic and collaborative approach to service delivery.
  •  Prepare conference rooms and COMM's Hub areas for presentations as required.
  • Raise and progress IT Work requests on behalf of users.
  • Fully utilise the IT Service Management system.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records within the various IT systems, including, but not limited to, the asset databases and Active Directory.
  • Ensure the safe and secure disposal of assets and information in accordance with WEEE waste regulations and security guidelines.
  •   Ensure safe "Systems of Work" are in place and fully comply with Health and Safety policy for Maintenance activities.
  • Provide telecoms cover where required.
  • Work with the wider IT team in supporting the Facilities and Maintenance Departments with their applicable IT requirements such as office moves and relocations.
  •  Assist with corporate, internal, and external IT audits.
  •  Assist in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing.
  • Assist with IT Strategy and Services Portfolio.
  • Assist with IT Project Scoping and definition
  • Contribute to the IT Risk Register.
  •  Carry out SMAT Audits and Positive Safety Conversations.
  • Perform other non-essential duties as assigned.


Qualifications /Experience Required / Person Attributes

  • Achieved some work experience in the areas of IT and IT Support
  • Undertaken certified learning (via college or university) which involved IT and/or computer science
  • Good working knowledge of laptop / desktop hardware, operating systems, physical and virtual environments
  • Good working knowledge of virus, malware, ransomware prevention and protection, backup solutions
  • Previous experience of using an IT service management tool or a call logging system, work request system, change control and asset database management - Desirable
  • Have at least 12 months in totality of IT-related work experience - Desirable
  • Awareness and/or practical experience of working towards cyber essentials and cyber essentials plus accreditation - Desirable
  • Member of Relevant Professional Institute - Desirable
