Every year we collect two million blood donations as well as platelet donations, prepare them for use and distribute them to hospitals throughout England. Donor Records plays an integral part in maintaining details of our donors. As a Donor Records Clerical Officer, you will be responsible for managing the changes and amendments to donor details. Your day-to-day duties will involve inputting information on to our database regarding donor registration, overseeing donor record transfers, archiving and producing routine medical correspondence. This is a great opportunity to join an expanding team working for a lifesaving organisation. The working hours for this post are full time hours per week, working hours each day Tuesday to Saturday between the hours of 6am 3pm.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of a dedicated team responsible for managing the changes and amendments to donor details using our bespoke IT system (Pulse)Being responsible for the continuous improvement in the quality of the donor database and ensure the production of clinical correspondenceArchiving Donor Record by preparing them ensuring that collection dates are met.Ensuring that information relating to donor records is safeguarded in accordance with data protection and information governance guidelines, maintaining confidentiality at all times.Reviewing Donotion Safety Checks (DSC) information to identify discretionary testing and key clinical data of blood donations.
